**Checked: 18 July 2026.** These are the primary or canonical sources used for learner-facing claims in Module 1, The Agile Mindset. Lessons in later modules cite their sources inline.

| Source | What Module 1 uses it for | Limitation |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Manifesto for Agile Software Development](https://agilemanifesto.org/) (2001) | The four value statements and the reminder that both sides have value. | It is a software-development statement. The module does not rewrite it as a universal rule for every profession. |
| [Principles behind the Agile Manifesto](https://agilemanifesto.org/principles.html) (2001) | The twelve principles and the ideas of early delivery, sustainable work, simplicity, and reflection. | The four teaching clusters are Strategica's learning aid, not official categories. |
| [History of the Agile Manifesto](https://agilemanifesto.org/history.html) | The 2001 Snowbird meeting and its cross-method origin. | Historical context, not evidence that a named method fits a current workplace. |
| [The Scrum Guide](https://scrumguides.org/scrum-guide.html) (official current English version, November 2020) | Scrum is a distinct framework with defined elements. | This module is not Scrum training or certification preparation. |
| [The Kanban Guide](https://kanbanguides.org/the-kanban-guide/) (May 2025) | Kanban as a flow-oriented approach for knowledge work. | It does not make Kanban, Scrum, and agile interchangeable. |

The previously drafted 1994 CHAOS statistics are not included in the public lesson. A third-party scan records the headline figures and high-level respondent count, but not the project-level data, sampling frame, questionnaire, or analysis needed to reproduce a general benchmark. Peer-reviewed criticism also identifies serious problems with the report's success definitions and aggregation. No current project-success rate or claim that agile caused better outcomes is made.

For editorial review, see the [third-party scan of the 1994 report](https://opencommons.org/images/6/6a/Chaos_report_1994.pdf) and Eveleens and Verhoef's peer-reviewed paper, [_The Rise and Fall of the CHAOS Report Figures_](https://research.vu.nl/en/publications/the-rise-and-fall-of-the-chaos-report-figures/).

Links should be rechecked before a material update to Module 1. Framework guidance can change; local law, safety duties, privacy obligations, and organisational authority can override a general learning example.
